Boston Coasters at ArtBeat
Saturday July 21st was Somerville's annual arts festival in Davis Square, ArtBeat. The theme this year was "ArtBeast". Among the events of the day was a metallic beast on wheels pulled down Elm Street during the parade.
This was the first art fair Boston Coasters attended. While it was a first for this new venture, it was not the first sighting of the popular coasters. Over the past few years Mike Ritter and myself have become known as the "coaster guys". This was our fifth year at ArtBeat and repeat customers seemed to out number new ones. If I had taken a survey for the day, I believe the most popular reason for purchasing the coasters is to give as gifts to friends or family that have moved out west somewhere. Fair well you former Somerville residents! Keep those coffee tables clear of water rings.
The Boston Coasters image is spreading. More images are being uploaded to the website and more artists are joining. Be on the lookout for Boston Coasters at local stores in Somerville and Cambridge in the near future!
